2018 Victoria Enmon Award Presented to Donna Fischer of Riley Children’s Foundation

In 2008, Victoria Enman passed away from leukemia at the age of 15. In Victoria’s honor, Jeromy Adams, gamer and friend of Victoria’s, created Extra Life to play games while raising money for sick children. Extra Life’s motto is ‘Play Games to Help Heal Local Kids’ and since its inception in 2008, has raised over $40 Million for sick and injured kids. Extra Life unites thousands of gamers around the world in support of local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals and helps Victoria’s legacy live on.

Victoria’s legacy also lives on through the Victoria Enmon Award. This award is presented to a CMN Extra Hospital program director who embodies the spirit of Victoria– strength and positivity. Donna Fischer, Extra Life Program Director for Riley Hospital for Children (Riley), won the Victoria Enmon Award in March of 2018. Donna was unable to accept the Victoria award in person, so her colleague, Kylie Marcus, accepted it on her behalf.

Donna has worked with Extra Life since 2014 and remains a key component to its success. Donna works closely with the Extra Life Indianapolis Guild (Indy Guild), gives Extra Life members hospital tours to further connect them with the Riley mission, and enjoys learning why members are passionate about participating in Extra Life and raising money for Riley.

Her highlights while working with Extra Life include, meeting the Enmon family at Children’s Hospitals week in 2017, working at Gen Con with CMN in 2016 and 2018, and continually working with people who have a common mission to play games and heal kids.

The success of Extra Life is partly due to dedicated program directors like Donna who show relentless dedication to Extra Life. Donna is currently fundraising through Extra Life on her own challenging herself to learn one new game every month with a goal of $1,000 for the year.

Donna’s dedication to Riley kids is evident and her commitment to Extra Life and Riley Hospital for Children is inspiring.

Thank you, Donna!
