Speedway Heartland Division visits Riley Hospital for Children
Members of Speedway LLC’s Heartland Division visited Riley Hospital for Children on May 10th. They toured the hospital and the Speedway Burn Center, the only location in Indiana that treats children with burns, named in their honor.
Joe Novack, Vice President Western Division Operations, and Mike Timmerman, Heartland Division Director, from Speedway and several members of the regional management team were recognized for the company’s 2016 fundraising efforts for Riley. Through a partnership with the Indianapolis Colts and a program called “When the Colts Score, the Kids Win“, Speedway donates $1,000 to Riley for every Colts touchdown pass during the NFL season. Blue, the Colts mascot, Colts cheerleaders, and Scott Higginson and Julia Pohlman from the Colts front office joined us and helped present a check with Speedway for $31,000 to Riley from the program.
Speedway associates and their loyal customers raised $1,970,910.51 for Riley and CMN Hospitals last year. Riley leadership and staff from the Hospital and Foundation helped thank and recognize this great achievement.
Speedway 2016 Fundraising Total
Local Speedway associates also recently made personal donations to purchase and replenish the hospital’s inventory for the Bear in the Chair program at Riley. The Speedway team also helped deliver another 70 bears to Riley for future Bear in the Chair visits to elementary schools around Indiana.

Marlee Davenport, our current CMN Champion for Indiana (seated front row center above), shared her Riley story and thanked the Speedway team for their generosity. She also received her own Bear in the Chair last November and Marlee’s class is featured at the end of this video clip.
